Derrick Howell founded Humble Monarch in 2018. Derrick provides coaching, strategies, and tools to improve advocacy surrounding mental and physical health and wellness for all. Derrick enjoys spending time with family, photography, and staying physically active. Mental health disorders can be undiagnosed or untreated, which may result in multigenerational impacts. Humble Monarch was created to empower communities and change the way mental health is viewed and approached. Our goal is increased awareness and action!
Derrick is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds licensure in three states. A graduate of Howard University’s School of Social Work, Derrick received his masters degree (MSW) with a concentration in mental health. “As a clinician, I initially planned to specialize in child and family services until attending Howard and learning first hand how prevalent unmet mental health needs are among underrepresented groups. During this time, I began to work with clients and witness their experiences with transference and self-medicating behaviors in an attempt to mitigate their mental health needs.”
